Free Auction Valuations

We offer free auction advice and estimates, without obligation, to help you decide whether or not to sell your fine art objects or antiques at auction. Our experienced valuers provide an honest and impartial assessment of your items.

RICS-accredited fine art valuers

The main types of antique and fine art valuations and appraisals we deal with include valuations for auction, divorce, inheritance, trust, insurance and probate. Our team of qualified valuers can advise on sales valuations of Asian art, books, ceramics, glass, clocks, coins, banknotes, furniture, militaria, medals, paintings, prints, silver, jewellery and watches.

We will also be delighted to appraise stamps, tribal art, wine, whisky, classic cars, automobilia, entertainment and sporting memorabilia, musical instruments and more.

Fine art valuations by phone, email and in person

1. In our saleroom — free valuations every weekday at our offices, by appointment only, at a time that suits you. Each appointment is allocated a 30-minute slot for up to 10 items; if you wish to bring more, let us know so that we can allocate more time.
2. A valuation visit — for a collection or large items that are difficult to transport, call +44 (0)1743 450700 to arrange a visit. Our valuers will provide an informal, verbal valuation and advice about selling at auction free of charge.
3. By email — email theauctionhouse@hallsgb.com some images of your items to receive a full auction valuation. We can value any number of items this way, and if we need more information we can arrange to see you and your items in person.
